The CCS team at Clive is the creative engine of the agency. Made up of creatives, designers, account managers and venue finders, it’s the team responsible for designing and selling the live events and solutions we produce for both new and existing clients.

We’re looking for a creative and ambitious Account Director to take overall responsibility for incoming new business opportunities and the production of our proposals and pitches across the agency.  This is a new and important role with wide ranging responsibilities that covers everything from creative concept development and writing to pitching, account development and team management.

The role:

  • Take overall responsibility for handling incoming new business enquiries
  • Responsible for achieving an annual new business target of £200k gross profit
  • Maximise all incoming new business opportunities by presenting Clive credentials and building relationships with clients
  • Be aware of and proactively seek other new business opportunities which will help achieve Clive’s growth plans and your personal target
  • Qualify all incoming opportunities and take overall responsibility for our response via the wider CCS team
  • Work closely with the creative team to ensure our solutions are always fresh, innovative and on-brand for our clients
  • Oversee the development and production of proposals and pitches – owning quality control across the team
  • Act as lead content developer / writer on major proposals
  • Oversee an increase in our conversion rate across the CCS team
  • Work with senior account manager(s) in team to manage delegation and tracking of workload and hours
  • Run the weekly sales meeting to plan for the workload and deadlines of the week ahead
  • Provide support, guidance and training to members of the team, setting objectives and running appraisals for the senior account managers on a six-monthly basis, whilst also overseeing appraisals of the wider team
  • Manage and recruit into the client services team with the support of senior account managers and agency resource manager where required
  • Develop relationships with new and existing key clients, suppliers and individuals
  • Act as an ambassador of and a credit to the company at all times


The Person

  • Ambitious and target-driven
  • A minimum of 6 years’ experience in a sales-led role, gained working in a creative, live events agency environment
  • Experience producing large-scale solutions for communications conferences, incentives, launches and experiential events
  • Creative with an eye for design and current trends
  • An excellent creative writer with an eagle eye for detail
  • Experience producing complex international budgets
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Confident and natural presenter with experience leading pitches to clients of all levels
  • Ability to communicate and consult effectively to help influence decisions at the most senior corporate levels
  • Proven experience of developing a team
  • IT Literate.  (Microsoft, InDesign and project management software packages)

Performance Expectation:

  • Achieve personal target of £200k Gross profit
  • Increase win-rate ratio across the CCS team
  • Achieve an agreed profit margin from all new business wins
  • Quality and standard of all proposals
  • Management and Development of team
